Splitly

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Splitly is a web application built for track and cross country coaches to time athletes, record splits, and manage team data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

When you sign in to Splitly using Google Sign-In, we collect the following information from your Google account:

We also collect the following information that you provide directly within the app:

How We Use Google Account Access

Splitly requests access to the following Google services:

We do not use your Google account access for any purpose other than what is described above. We do not read your emails, calendar, contacts, or any other Google data.

How We Store Your Data

All data collected by Splitly is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database service provided by Google. Your data is stored in the United States and is protected by Google's infrastructure security.

Health and activity data you import is stored only within your own coaching account and is not shared with other users or third parties.

How We Share Your Data

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. Your data is not used for advertising. The only third-party service that processes your data is Google Firebase, which is used to store and sync your coaching data across devices.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. We will delete your data within 30 days of your request.

Children's Privacy

Splitly is designed for use by coaches, who are adults. Athlete profiles contain names and performance data only — no contact information, photos, or identifying details beyond what a coach enters manually. We do not knowingly collect personal information from athletes directly.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including using Firebase's built-in security rules, requiring Google authentication to access all data, and using HTTPS for all data in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also revoke Splitly's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Splitly after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
