Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Splitly is a web application built for track and cross country coaches and athletes to time races, record splits, plan training, and manage team data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

When you sign in to Splitly using Google Sign-In, we collect the following information from your Google account:

We also collect the following information that you or members of your program enter directly within the app:

Splitly uses cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember whether you have installed the app, and route you to the correct screen. These are required for the app to function and are not used for advertising or third-party tracking.

How We Use Google Account Access

Splitly requests access to the following Google services:

We do not use your Google account access for any purpose other than what is described above. We do not read your emails, calendar, contacts, or any other Google data.

How We Store Your Data

All data collected by Splitly is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database service provided by Google. Your data is stored in the United States and is protected by Google's infrastructure security.

Health and activity data you import is stored only within your own coaching program and is not shared with other programs or third parties.

How We Share Your Data

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Your data is not used for advertising. The following service providers process data on our behalf:

Coaches and other members of your program will see information you have shared within that program, including your name, your activity logs, and any chat messages you send to that program.

Children's Privacy and Use by Minors

Splitly may be used by both coaches and athletes. Many athletes who use Splitly are minors enrolled in middle school, high school, or club track and cross country programs.

Minimum age. Splitly is intended for use by individuals 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create accounts or use the service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. Parents who believe their child under 13 has provided personal information to Splitly may contact us at the email below to request deletion.

Information we collect from athletes. When an athlete signs in to Splitly with Google, we collect their name, email address, and Google profile picture. Athletes may also enter activity logs, absence requests, and messages within the app. This information is shared only with the coaches and other members of the program the athlete has joined.

Parental and coach responsibility. Coaches who add athletes under 18 to a Splitly program represent that they have authority to do so as part of their role with a school, club, or organization, and that they will obtain parental or guardian consent where required by their school district, organization, or applicable law. For athletes under 13, verifiable parental consent must be obtained before the athlete is added to a program or signs in.

Parents' rights. A parent or guardian may at any time request review or deletion of their child's personal information by contacting us at the email below.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. We will delete your data within 30 days of your request.

When a program owner deletes a program from within the app, all associated team data, workouts, sessions, meet results, season plans, and chat messages for that program are removed automatically. When a coach removes or deactivates a member, that member's access to the program is revoked immediately.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including using Firebase's built-in security rules, requiring Google authentication to access all data, and using HTTPS for all data in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also revoke Splitly's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Splitly after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
